Assessment and Monitoring of resource landings and the fishing effort along the Indian coast through a stratified multistage sampling design

Achievements
Fisheries Statistics and Stock Assessment
Standardised and implemented the Multistage Stratified Random Sampling Design for collection and estimation of marine fish landings in India.
Estimated marine fish production statewise, specieswise, gearwise together with effort expended.
Analysed the region-wise, assemblage-wise trends in production
Conducted Quinquennial Frame Surveys for determining the fisherfolk population, craft, gear and other infrastructure details.
